| Robert Crumb is a legend in comix. Loved and hated internationally, he is one of the founders of alternative comix in the 1960s. Controversial, to put it mildly, he satirized every institution with smashed taboos. With the revival of alternative comics in the early 1990s and the Zwigoff film, Crumb has become an icon of the American underground of the 1960s to comix fans and casual pop culture buffs. He has grown away from comics in recent years and does a lot of beautiful illustration and design work for books and record companies. He lives in France.
