Seth is the cartoonist behind the painfully infrequent comic book series PALOOKAVILLE. Currently, he is serializing the story CLYDE FANS between the series'` covers, which in 2010 will cease to be a pamphlet and will appear in annual hardcovers. This is a task that has gone on for a decade and will continue for several more years. His novels, which have been translated into 8 languages, include IT'S A GOOD LIFE IF YOU DON'T WEAKEN, WIMBLEDON GREEN, the aforementioned CLYDE FANS BOOK ONE and the illustrated memoir of his father, BANNOCK, BEANS AND BLACK TEA. The first volume of Seths sketchbooks has appeared under the title VERNACULAR DRAWINGS and another will present itself when time permits. In 2007, Seth serialized the story GEORGE SPROTT (1894-1975) in the New York Times Magazine in 25 installments, and has expanded the story to appear as a standalone book in Spring 2009. As a book designer, Seth has worked on a variety of projects including the recent Penguin Classics reedition of THE PORTABLE DOROTHY PARKER. He is the designer of the 25 volume series THE COMPLETE PEANUTS and the upcoming two volume series on Canadian master cartoonist DOUG WRIGHT. Seth has exhibited throughout the world in a variety of group and solo shows. Recently, he was the subject of a solo exhibition at the ART GALLERY OF ONTARIO, which showcased the first public display of his model city DOMINION and acquired Seth's "Hush" work of art to be in its permanent collection. Dominion City was recently featured at the Render Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario and will tour to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, London, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. Seth's artwork was also featured in "UnInked," an exhibition curated by Chris Ware for the Phoenix Art Museum in 2007 and "Speak: Nine Cartoonists" at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery in New York City in 2006.
As an illustrator, Seth has produced commercial works for virtually all of the major Canadian and American magazines. His work frequently appears inside and on the cover of the New Yorker. He is the subject of an upcoming National Film Board documentary. Seth lives in Guelph, Ontario with his wife and two cats and rarely leaves his basement.
