|Born in Seoul, South Korea, Michael Cho moved to Canada at the tender age of 6 years old. There, he continued his lifelong practice of drawing on whatever surface he could find. He first learned to draw by copying comic books with his pencil crayons, but later moved on to oil paints, ink and gouache.
A graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, Michael now divides his time between freelancing on illustration assignments and writing and drawing comics. His work has been published in The New York Times Book Review, The Boston Globe, Macleans, Nickelodeon Magazine and Scientific American. He has also painted book covers for Penguin Classics, Random House and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Along the way, Michael has been the recipient of a couple of Canadian National Magazine Award nominations, winning a Silver in 2007. He currently lives and works in downtown Toronto, Ontario, in a nice apartment with his lovely wife and daughter.
