Adrian Tomine’s first original comic book in over two years comes out in February at a fine comic book shop near you. OPTIC NERVE #9 will be excerpted in McSweeney’s #13 and is the start of a new three issue story arc. A preview of the issue is available at :

http://www.drawnandquarterly.com/artPreviews.php?artist=a3dff7dd5641ba&type=1

Not even 30 years old and already a seasoned illustrator, Tomine presents ten years of illustration work this summer in the oversized coffee table edition SCRAPBOOK. Comics strips from Giant Robot and Pulse! and illustrations for the New Yorker, Details, Esquire, The Eels, Weezer and more. Don’t miss Adrian’s NYC & Bay Area appearances, details below.

And, the French edition of SUMMER BLONDE, "Blonde Platine" has been nominated for "best graphic album" for the 2004 Prix d'Angoulême "

Taking time off from designing a multi-volume Peanuts series for our esteemed Seattle colleagues, SETH presents a hardcover (at a softcover price of $19.95 US) PALOOKAVILLE collection of CLYDE FANS (April) and illustrates his father’s memoir in BANNOCK BEANS & BLACK TEA (April). Issue #17 of PALOOKAVILLE should also be out by this Summer, you’ll be able to see an excerpt of it in McSweeney’s issue #13. Seth has been nominated for "best art" for the 2004 Prix d'Angoulême for the French edition of CLYDE FANS, "Le Commis Voyageur."

A true renaissance man, cartoonist Harry Mayerovitch has been not only a cartoonist but a designer and architect for over seven decades. WAY TO GO (March) will be designed and have an intro by NY Times Op-Ed art Director Steven Guarnacci. His first book in twenty years, WAY TO GO will showcase different stages of Harry's cartooning career from World War Two to his recent witty musings on death.

The first North American graphic novel of the wildly popular French cartooning team Dupuy & Berberian will be GET A LIFE (April) which will collect the first three volumes of the Monsieur Jean series that sold over 120,000 units in France.

The D+Q SHOWCASE: BOOK TWO (April) features brand new short stories from three talented cartoonists Jeffrey Brown, Pentti Otsamo, and Erik De Graaf.

BULLY: MASTER OF THE MERRY-GO-ROUND (June) is a scathing critique of the Bush-Cheney administration by one of the best political artists of our time, Sue Coe.

D+Q is proud to present Frank King’s GASOLINE ALLEY to be designed and edited by Chris Ware. This summer, BOOK ONE will be the first of a multi-volume series and is also the first time the series has EVER been collected in book form.

HOLD STILL: D+Q has two more comic book releases in addition to OPTIC NERVE #9 & PALOOKAVILLE #17, late Spring will see the arrival of Archer Prewitt's SOF' BOY #3 and Jason Lutes' BERLIN #11. And we may add more comic book releases at any time throughout the year, perhaps even PEEPSHOW # 14, of which 5 pages are going to be included in McSweeney's issue 13!
