ICYMI: Drawn & Quarterly has acquired North American rights to Craig Thompson's beloved coming-of-age classic Blankets, and our hardcover and paperback editions are hot off the presses and ploppin' into bookstores TODAY! First released in 2003, many of our readers grew up with this book, or at least grew into their comics-reading persons because of it, because of the romance, excitement, and emotional/moral struggle that exists between it's pages, because of Craig's brushstroke, because of his ability to craft a terribly engrossing and heartbreaking story.

The closeness of two brothers, growing up in the isolation of a rural, snow-covered environment.

First love, and the thrill of discovery—discovery of yourself…of another.

Too closely followed by first goodbyes, and the lasting imprint of the events that precede it.

With persistent questions of faith, and the moral hopscotch that comes with that.

And then the other trials associated with teenager-y-ness—bullies, friendship, philosophy, and longing, all on one page.

We are delighted to welcome this book and Craig Thompson to the D+Q family. If this incredibly human story is not already on your shelves, or on the shelves of your YA friends, daughters, sons (who really are the best audience for this book, though it is beyond enjoyable for any reader), now seems like a great time to pick up this brand-new D+Q edition. And with Craig on tour for his new kids book—Space Dumplins—now's also a great time to grab some face-time with Craig and have him sign your copy!
