Paris, have we got some excitement for you! On Tuesday, January 26th at 6:30pm, the good folks of Galerie Martel will be hosting the opening for an exhibition celebrating Drawn & Quarterly through the art of ten of our incredible North American cartoonists. D+Q is coming over in full force for the opening: cartoonists Marc Bell and Anders Nilsen will be there, as will Exec Ed Tom Devlin and yours truly. Come out and raise a glass with us!

The complete list of artists participating is tremendous, displaying the range of D+Q's history, but even more so, the range of D+Q's authors' bodies of work: Lynda Barry! Marc Bell! Chester Brown! Geneviève Castrée! Julie Doucet! Lisa Hanawalt! Jason Lutes! Anders Nilsen! Seth! Adrian Tomine!

I don't know what each and every one of them has opted to share with Galerie Martel, but I can tease that Lisa Hanawalt's contribution previews her June 2016 book with us, Hot Dog Taste Test, while Adrian Tomine and Anders Nilsen are sharing work from Optic Nerve, Shortcomings, and Big Questions respectively. And can I just note how rare it is to see Chester Brown originals in the wild? Is my excitement letting me get ahead of myself? We don't get original artwork in the office very often anymore.

For those of you with good excuses for missing the vernissage (that's "art opening" in French for ya!), this beautiful exhibit will be open to the public from Wednesday January 27th through Saturday March 12th, and the gallery's hours are from 2:30 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Galerie Martel is located at 17 Rue Martel, 75010 in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. À bientôt, mes ami.e.s!
