The New York Times excerpts Tom Gauld's "Goliath"

Tom Gauld, who illustrates our weekly Riff column, has just released “Goliath” — “the story of David and Goliath from the giant’s point of view,” according to his Web site. The graphic novel was published by the Montreal bookshop and small press Drawn and Quarterly, and a sampling of its pages, below, demonstrates how Gauld can use simple, clever visuals to explore the larger, more complicated issues of war and heroism.
