“Shopping For A Comics Fan? Check Out These Great Gift Ideas” / Forbes / Rob Salkowitz / November 23, 2016

If you have someone on your gift list who loves comics and graphic novels, publishers have pulled out all the stops this year in creating some fantastic must-have editions of both classic and new material. Here are some of the most cool and beautiful publications out there for comic fans of every taste.

You can find them at the usual online outlets, at finer book and comic shops, and in some cases, order direct from the publisher or author. Prices are those listed by the publisher; your mileage may vary, especially during Black Friday sales.

For young adults.

The Greatest of Marlys (Drawn & Quarterly). Lynda Barry created Marlys Mullen, the irrepressible young protagonist of Ernie Pook’s Comeek, back in the 1980s, but the stories of the joys, heartbreak, triumphs and cruelties of childhood are timeless. D&Q put together this handsome reissue of the best-loved Marlys stories just in time for Barry’s induction into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
